FEAR NOT THE GIANTS

When Moses sent out the twelve scouts to inventory the Promised Land, they all heard, saw, and felt the same things. Ten of them came back with a negative report...they had seen giants!! (Descendants of the Nephilim) They promptly conveyed their fears to the entire multitude of the Israelites.

Two of the scouts, on the other hand, felt quite differently. Yes, they had seen the giants, too, but as Caleb reported to the crowd (Numbers 14:9) “Do not rebel against the LORD. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them.”

As a result of their disobedience and contempt for the LORD, none of the Children of Israel who had come out of slavery in Egypt were allowed to cross over into the Promised Land. (The only exceptions were Joshua, Caleb, and those who had been born in the wilderness).

And God had these good things to say about Caleb (Numbers 14:24) “Because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.”

I believe I hear a promise in the verse above! It sounds like God has a lot in store for me if I trust in Him. AND my “descendants” will benefit from my faith as well.

What about you?

Are you facing any “giants” today?

Do like Caleb and follow the LORD “wholeheartedly”.

And face the giants anyway.

With something to think about...

In Christ,
Delores
