And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, "Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"

A young man's lifestyle has been a hard one—his life consists of pick-up jobs, riding with his motorcycle gang, and hanging out in bars and clubs. But he meets Jesus and is genuinely saved. A leader at the church he attends encourages him to stop frequenting his old hangouts and start spending more time with believers. "But believers are already saved, right?" he asks. "If I leave the places I came from, who's going to tell my unsaved friends about Jesus?"
Luke 5:29-32
How would you answer this young man? When Jesus began His public ministry, He did a seemingly strange thing: He asked John the Baptist to baptize Him along with the repentant sinners streaming out of Jerusalem and Judea. Why? Because He wanted to identify with those He came to save. Even though He had no sins to wash away in the Jordan River, the last thing He wanted to do was stand off to the side in a "holier-than-thou" posture. He came to seek and save the lost, so to the lost He went.
If we remove ourselves from those who need Jesus, we remove a lot of the opportunity they will have to meet Him. Count up your non-Christian friends. If you can do it on one hand, ask God for more.
Go for souls, and go for the worst.
