Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

The Gospels only give us representative moments in our Lord's ministry. John tells us that if everything Jesus did had been written down, there wouldn't be enough books in the world to contain the record of it. But even the Gospels in their brevity record nine separate occasions when Jesus ministered especially to children. The words "child" and "children" occur nearly 100 times in the Gospels. Jesus loved children: He loved working with children, and He rebuked the disciples for preventing children from approaching Him. It's easy to picture our Lord with children running around His feet, sitting on His lap, and even in His arms and on His shoulders.
Matthew 19:13-15
If you're working with children in your home or church, it's a Christlike calling. None are so high in the Lord's work as those who stoop down to the level of children and minister to our Lord's little friends.
Having devoted more than two decades of my life and all of my professional skills to studying and working with ministries of all types, I am now convinced that the greatest hope for the local church lies in raising godly children.
