They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They
imitated the nations around them although the LORD had ordered them,
"Do not do as they do," and they did the things the LORD had forbidden
them to do. They forsook all the commands of the LORD their God and
made for themselves two idols cast in the shape of calves, and an
Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the starry hosts, and they
worshiped Baal.

Choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your
fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods
of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house,
we will serve the LORD.

What we set our eye upon to follow, day by day, we will be transformed
into that which we behold.
So, turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full on His wonderful face
And the things of earth
will grow strangely dim
In the light of His Glory and Grace.
